Los Angeles, CA (April 13, 2025) – A hit-and-run collision occurred early Saturday morning on I-10 Eastbound, just west of the I-110 North connector, resulting in injuries and disrupting traffic in downtown Los Angeles.
The incident was first reported around 6:55 a.m., with California Highway Patrol units arriving on scene shortly after 7:14 a.m. Initial reports indicated that individuals involved in the crash were injured and that the collision was blocking lanes near the connector ramp between I-10 E and I-110 N. First responders, including paramedics, assessed and treated individuals hurt in the crash. A variety of injuries were reported, and some victims were transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
The crash involved at least one vehicle that fled the scene, prompting a hit-and-run investigation. Crews worked to clear the eastbound lanes of I-10 near the interchange, which experienced significant congestion as a result of the blocked traffic lanes. A towing service was dispatched to remove at least one disabled vehicle, and cleanup operations were completed after the scene was stabilized.
California Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances of the crash and is working to identify the suspect vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. No arrests or citations have been announced as of this report.
Our thoughts are with those injured in this incident, and we hope for a full recovery for all affected.
Hit-and-Run Crashes on Los Angeles Freeways
Los Angeles freeways, including the heavily traveled I-10 and I-110 corridors, are notorious for high-speed collisions and complex traffic patterns—especially near downtown interchanges. Hit-and-run crashes in these areas are particularly dangerous, as fleeing drivers leave injured victims without immediate support or accountability.
According to the California Office of Traffic Safety, Los Angeles consistently ranks among the highest in the state for hit-and-run incidents involving injuries. These crashes often occur in congested zones where quick exits allow at-fault drivers to escape before law enforcement can arrive.
Saturday morning’s incident near the I-10/I-110 connector underscores the persistent threat of reckless driving and driver negligence in high-traffic corridors. Drivers are reminded to remain alert, adhere to posted speed limits, and report any suspicious or fleeing vehicles they witness at accident scenes.
Victims of hit-and-run crashes often face long recovery periods, mounting medical expenses, and legal uncertainties. Seeking support and exploring legal options can help injured parties regain stability in the aftermath.
