Los Angeles, CA (September 15, 2025) – A man lost his life Friday night after being struck by two vehicles—one of which fled the scene—in a tragic pedestrian accident on Figueroa St in South Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The deadly incident occurred around 7:35 PM on September 13 in the area just north of 81st St. Investigators say the man was walking outside of a marked crosswalk when he was hit by a southbound silver Toyota Corolla. The force of the initial impact threw the pedestrian onto the roadway.
As the Toyota driver stopped to render aid, a second vehicle—a blue car also traveling southbound—struck the man a second time while he lay in the street. That driver did not stop and continued southbound, fleeing the scene.
Paramedics quickly arrived and transported the victim to a nearby hospital. Despite lifesaving efforts, the man was later pronounced dead. His identity has not yet been released, pending notification of his next of kin.
The LAPD is actively searching for the hit-and-run driver and encourages anyone with information about the second vehicle to come forward.
Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of the victim during this heartbreaking time.
