Los Angeles, CA (January 16, 2026) – A pedestrian riding a scooter sustained injuries following a collision with a vehicle on Thursday afternoon near the intersection of W 8th St and Garland Ave in downtown Los Angeles.
The incident occurred around 2:47 p.m. on January 15 and was treated as a high-priority Code 3 emergency. Emergency crews responded swiftly, deploying multiple traffic and medical units to the scene. Upon arrival, responders found a pedestrian who had been struck while operating a scooter, and immediate medical attention was provided. The extent of the injuries has not yet been confirmed.
Due to the nature of the crash, traffic in the surrounding blocks was temporarily impacted as crews secured the area and investigated the scene. Authorities have not released additional information regarding the vehicle involved or whether the driver remained at the scene.
