Louisville, KY (February 1, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a traffic collision involving young children on I-65 South near the Hospital Curve area in Louisville. The crash was reported at approximately 6:40 p.m. on January 31, according to dispatch audio from Louisville Metro Police Divisions 1 and 2.
First responders arrived to find a disabled vehicle in the right-hand lane of I-65 South, with a white semi-truck positioned behind it for protection. EMS was immediately requested to evaluate two young children who were inside the car at the time of the crash. One of the children, a 16-month-old boy, was reported to have suffered a bloody lip. A second child, approximately two years old, was also involved.
Paramedics arrived to assess both children for injuries while police worked to block lanes and control traffic in the area. Officers coordinated additional units to manage access points and ensure the safety of everyone on the scene, including the vehicle occupants and responders.
The cause of the crash has not yet been released, and authorities continue to investigate the incident. No details have been provided about other vehicles involved or whether additional injuries occurred.
