Luverne, AL (July 14, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle collision on Sunday afternoon claimed the life of 58-year-old Donna M. Tome of Luverne and left another individual injured. The crash occurred shortly after 1:00 p.m. along US-331, approximately one mile north of the Luverne city limits, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
Authorities reported that Tome was driving a vehicle involved in the crash when the incident took place. She was transported to Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne, where she was later pronounced deceased. A passenger in her vehicle, identified as 36-year-old Shawn A. Greive, also of Luverne, sustained injuries in the crash. Greive was airlifted or transported to Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery for treatment. The extent of his injuries has not yet been confirmed by officials.
