Madison Twp., OH (January 17, 2026) – Two tow truck operators were injured in a serious crash along Interstate 90 near mile marker 207 on January 16, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred during an emergency response following an earlier commercial vehicle crash.
Fast and Friendly Tow Service personnel were on the scene alongside troopers and Madison Township Fire and EMS. A patrol vehicle with emergency lights activated was parked off the right shoulder, outside of traffic lanes, when a second crash occurred nearby.
Authorities say a 2022 gray Dodge Charger, driven by a resident of Euclid, lost control while traveling westbound on I-90 near the original crash site. The vehicle veered off the north side of the highway, striking the patrol car, which was occupied by two troopers at the time.
Two tow truck operators, who were standing near the driver’s side of the patrol car in reflective gear, were struck in the impact. One man sustained serious injuries and was taken to Lake West Hospital. The second operator suffered minor injuries and was transported to TriPoint Hospital. The troopers inside the vehicle were not injured.
The Ohio Highway Patrol is continuing its investigation.
We send our support to the injured responders and wish them a full and timely recovery.
