Fatal Car Accidents in New Jersey
Deadly collisions like Monday’s in Manchester illustrate the dangers that can arise from risky driving behaviors on busy two-lane highways. Route 70 serves as a key east-west corridor in Ocean County, carrying a mix of local and through traffic. Passing stopped vehicles by crossing a double yellow line is both illegal and highly dangerous, as it puts drivers directly in the path of oncoming traffic.
In New Jersey, head-on and side-impact crashes caused by improper passing often lead to catastrophic outcomes, particularly when larger vehicles like vans are involved. Even at moderate speeds, the force of such collisions can cause severe injury or death, especially for unrestrained passengers.
