Marion County, FL (August 31, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision on Saturday morning in Marion County resulted in the death of a 54-year-old man and serious injuries to others at the intersection of S.R. 200 and SW 140th Street.
The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash occurred around 8:40 AM. A 22-year-old woman from Dunnellon was driving an SUV westbound on SW 140th Street when she failed to stop at a stop sign and entered the intersection. At the same time, a second SUV, driven by a 54-year-old man from Citrus Springs, was traveling northbound on S.R. 200. The vehicles collided at the intersection, causing severe damage.
The driver of the second SUV, the Citrus Springs man, was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Dunnellon woman sustained serious injuries and was also taken to the hospital. A 1-year-old girl riding as a passenger in the first SUV was transported to the hospital as well; her condition has not been disclosed.
Authorities continue to investigate the incident to determine the full circumstances that led to this fatal collision.
