Mercer County, PA (January 16, 2026) – Ten individuals were injured on Wednesday evening in a serious collision involving a car and a horse-drawn buggy on U.S. Route 19 near Fairview Road in Fairview Township.
The accident occurred around 5:30 p.m., prompting a multi-agency emergency response. Among those injured was a baby who became trapped beneath the buggy during the impact. The infant was transported with serious injuries to a hospital in the Pittsburgh area for advanced care.
All ten victims were taken to four different medical facilities for treatment. The extent of the injuries to the remaining individuals has not been fully released, but the scope of the response and hospital distribution suggests a significant and complex incident.
