According to Mesquite Police, the collision occurred at approximately 1:44 a.m. when an intoxicated driver struck a group of people attempting to change a tire on the outside shoulder of the highway.
Authorities reported that the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision. The suspect was arrested at the scene and charged with four counts of intoxication manslaughter. The names of the victims and the suspect have not yet been released.
