Investigators stated that a 2020 Buick Encore, driven by 20-year-old Aubrie Sell of Metamora, attempted a U-turn from the right lane into the path of a 2017 Honda Odyssey traveling in the left lane. The vehicles collided, disabling both in the roadway. Sell and her passenger, 20-year-old Chloe Haberman of Lima, suffered minor injuries and received treatment at the scene.
The Honda Odyssey, operated by 41-year-old Khaled Saleh of Columbus, was carrying an adult passenger and five children at the time of the crash. All seven occupants sustained minor injuries and were transported to Toledo Hospital for further care.
Traffic on OH-25 was temporarily disrupted while Middleton Township Fire & EMS, the Wood County Sheriff’s Department, and local towing crews worked alongside state troopers to secure the area. The Ohio State Highway Patrol Bowling Green Post continues to investigate the circumstances of the collision.
Our thoughts are with those recovering, and we hope for their full and swift recovery.
Car Accidents in Ohio
Sunday evening’s crash on Route 25 highlights the risks drivers face when sudden maneuvers occur on busy stretches of roadway. The collision, which involved both a Buick Encore and a Honda Odyssey carrying a family of seven, shows how quickly a traffic incident can escalate into a major emergency requiring extensive medical and towing support. Even though injuries in this case were described as minor, the number of people impacted—nine in total—illustrates how the consequences extend beyond a single driver.
Two-lane and multi-lane roads in Ohio often present challenges when vehicles attempt U-turns or sudden lane changes, especially near intersections such as King Rd. These maneuvers can leave little time for other motorists to react. Safety officials frequently stress the importance of signaling well in advance, checking blind spots, and making turns only when traffic is clear to prevent crashes like this one.
In addition to physical injuries, families involved in collisions often face emotional strain, disrupted schedules, and financial burdens from medical care and vehicle damage. Access to medical evaluations—as seen here with all occupants of the Odyssey being taken to Toledo Hospital—remains essential even when injuries initially appear minor.
