Middletown, DE (July 29, 2025) – A deadly crash occurred on Monday night when a Toyota Highlander lost control on US Route 301 northbound near the DE-71 overpass, resulting in the death of a passenger in the vehicle. The incident happened around 6:00 p.m., when the SUV veered into the grass median, causing it to go airborne.
Initial investigations suggest that, for unknown reasons, the Toyota Highlander left the left lane and traveled off the road into the median. The vehicle went up an embankment and launched into the air, ultimately landing in the right lane of DE-71 northbound.
