Firefighters were called to the scene at 10th and Burleigh shortly after 9:30 AM. Upon arrival, they discovered a car engulfed in flames next to a garage. As the fire crews extinguished the blaze, which had spread partially to the garage, they found the body of one individual inside the vehicle.

Kamya Perry, a local resident, expressed her disbelief, saying, “My heart just hurts that whoever was in that car had to go out that way.” She mentioned that she had helped the car’s owner just the day before, further deepening the sadness of the incident. Another neighbor, Jermaine Evans, recalled hearing a loud boom and rushing outside to see the car in flames, at which point he noticed the fire had spread to the garage.
