Mitchell, SD (August 11, 2025) – A hit-and-run incident occurred Tuesday evening near E 10th Ave in Mitchell, SD, when a minivan struck a woman and fled the scene. The crash was reported at approximately 7:39 p.m., prompting an immediate response from Mitchell Regional Public Safety.
According to reports, the suspect vehicle, a blue 2004 Honda Odyssey minivan, struck the woman before driving off. The victim was located at 418 East 10th Ave, where the vehicle had parked in front of a yard after the incident. The driver of the minivan continued to drive erratically, heading towards Kimball.
Authorities were able to track the vehicle’s movements, and at one point, the suspect vehicle was spotted near the intersection of 1st Street and East Douglas. Law enforcement agencies are actively working to locate the driver of the minivan. The woman who was struck reportedly sustained injuries, though the extent of her condition has not yet been disclosed.
