Hit-and-Run Incidents and Traffic Safety

Hit-and-run incidents like this one are a serious concern, as they not only put victims in harm’s way but also hinder law enforcement’s ability to respond effectively. The Mitchell Police Department continues to investigate the situation and encourages anyone with information about the incident or the driver to come forward.

Local safety campaigns remind drivers of their legal and moral responsibility to stop and assist if involved in an accident. Fleeing the scene of an accident can result in severe legal consequences, and it is vital for the safety of all involved that drivers remain at the scene until help arrives.
