Moniteau County, MO (January 10, 2025) – A serious accident occurred on MO 5 northbound near MO NN at approximately 5:15 PM on Thursday. The incident involved a 2019 Chevrolet Colorado and an unidentified vehicle, resulting in significant damage and serious injuries to the driver of the Chevrolet.
According to reports, the crash occurred when a large piece of ice fell from the unidentified southbound vehicle and struck the windshield of the northbound Chevrolet Colorado. The impact caused the Chevrolet to veer off the left edge of the roadway and collide with a fence. The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the scene and remains unaccounted for.
The driver of the Chevrolet Colorado, a 60-year-old male from Tipton, MO, sustained serious injuries in the crash. Emergency responders from Mid-Missouri Ambulance transported him to Lake Regional Hospital for treatment. The Chevrolet Colorado sustained total damage and was towed from the scene by Leepers Towing.
