Montgomery, AL (January 17, 2026) – A woman from Pike Road has died following a serious two-vehicle collision on Interstate 85 near Taylor Rd in Montgomery, according to the Montgomery Police Department. The crash occurred around 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14.
The victim, 46-year-old Chera Robinson Doty, was found at the scene with life-threatening injuries. She was airlifted to a nearby hospital by medical helicopter, but tragically succumbed to her injuries the following day.
Doty served as the children’s minister at Century Church in Pike Road, which confirmed her passing in a statement shared on social media. The church also announced funeral arrangements scheduled for Sunday, inviting attendees to wear bright, sparkly colors in celebration of her life.
“Chera was the brightest of lights,” the statement read, reflecting on her impact within the community.
