Montgomery County, MO (January 17, 2026) – A 29-year-old man from Kansas City suffered serious injuries after being struck by two vehicles while attempting to cross I-70 Westbound at the 169 mile marker on January 16, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at approximately 4:13 p.m. as the pedestrian entered the roadway and was hit by a 2025 Kia Sorento driven by a 69-year-old woman from St. Peters, followed by a 2026 International HX620 operated by a 65-year-old man from Jefferson City. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts and reported no injuries. Each vehicle sustained minor damage and was able to be driven from the scene.
Montgomery County EMS responded and transported the injured pedestrian to University Hospital for treatment. Reports indicate the individual was not using a safety device at the time of the incident.
