Montgomery Twp, MN (September 24, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision with injuries was reported Wednesday morning at the intersection of Highway 13 and Highway 99 in Montgomery Township, Nicollet County. The crash occurred around 6:20 a.m., involving a Ford Escape and a Ford F-350, both of which sustained significant damage in the impact.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2017 Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on Hwy 99 and attempted to turn left onto northbound Hwy 13 when it collided with a northbound 2000 Ford F-350 at the intersection. The crash happened under wet road conditions, and multiple area agencies responded to the scene, including Montgomery Fire, Le Centre Fire, Montgomery PD, Waterville PD, and Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Office.
Both drivers were injured and transported to New Prague Hospital for treatment. The driver of the Ford F-350, identified as 46-year-old Douglas Claire Robinson of Waseca, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Ford Escape, 26-year-old Nicolle Serene Stevens of Faribault, was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Both were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash, and no alcohol was involved.
Authorities remain on scene investigating the cause of the crash and are working to determine whether additional factors may have contributed.
We extend our well wishes to Mr. Robinson and Ms. Stevens for a full and smooth recovery.
Intersection Accidents in Minnesota
Crashes like the one at Highway 13 and Highway 99 illustrate the risks present at rural intersections—especially during early morning hours and in poor weather conditions. Wet roads, limited visibility, and split-second turning decisions can all combine to create serious safety hazards, even when drivers are following the law and wearing seat belts.
Montgomery Township sits at a crossroads of regional traffic, connecting smaller towns with larger hubs across southern Minnesota. Highways like 13 and 99 see a mix of commercial, agricultural, and commuter vehicles, which means collisions often involve significant force and vehicle damage—as was the case in Wednesday’s crash involving a large truck and a compact SUV.

For those injured, even when injuries are classified as non-life-threatening, the road to recovery can be long and filled with logistical, financial, and emotional hurdles.
That’s why it’s important for crash victims to seek not only medical attention but also guidance on their recovery options—from injury documentation to navigating insurance claims or accessing legal resources.
