Morgan County, MO (June 26, 2025) – Two men were injured Wednesday morning in a rear-end crash on Missouri Route 52 at Route C, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at approximately 11:40 a.m. when a 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan, driven by a 72-year-old man from St. Louis, was slowing to make a right turn onto Route C. At that moment, an eastbound 2019 Chrysler 300, driven by a 38-year-old man from Linn Creek, failed to yield and struck the rear of the Grand Caravan.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene by Garber Diesel.
The driver of the Grand Caravan and his 69-year-old passenger, a man from Sunrise Beach, were both wearing seatbelts and suffered minor injuries. They were transported by Mid Missouri Ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital for evaluation and treatment.
The driver of the Chrysler 300 was not reported injured. The crash remains under investigation by Corporal C. Mistler (Troop F).
We extend our sincere well-wishes for a full and swift recovery to the injured individuals, especially the young child involved.
Rear-End Collisions on Missouri Highways
Rear-end accidents like Wednesday’s crash on MO-52 are among the most common types of collisions on Missouri roadways. These crashes often occur when drivers fail to maintain a safe following distance or misjudge the speed of slowing vehicles, particularly during turns or lane transitions.
Even at moderate speeds, rear-end impacts can result in whiplash, back injuries, or head trauma—especially for older adults who may be more vulnerable to injury. Prompt medical attention, as received by the two men in this incident, is essential to ensure recovery and prevent complications.
For victims, navigating the aftermath often involves dealing with medical care, vehicle repairs, and insurance challenges. Understanding your rights and accessing trusted resources can make a critical difference.
