Morgan, MO (August 24, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash occurred during the early morning commute on Friday at the intersection of MO C and Kelsay Rd in Morgan County. The accident, which happened around 6:55 AM, involved a 2009 Lincoln Navigator and a 2024 Ford F150, both traveling eastbound.
Emergency responders were quick to the scene, providing care to the injured victims. The 22-year-old female driver of the Lincoln Navigator sustained injuries and was transported by Mid-Mo Ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center for treatment. She was wearing a safety device at the time of the crash. The 61-year-old male driver of the Ford F150, also from Versailles, did not report injuries and was also confirmed to have been wearing a seatbelt.
According to investigators from Troop F, the collision took place as the Ford was stopped in traffic when it was rear-ended by the Lincoln Navigator. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene by Garber’s Towing. The crash caused a temporary disruption to morning traffic while crews worked to remove the vehicles and investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Our thoughts are with the injured driver as she recovers.
Rear-End Crashes in Rural Missouri
Rear-end collisions remain one of the most frequent types of traffic accidents across Missouri, including in rural counties like Morgan. These crashes often occur when drivers are distracted, following too closely, or misjudging stopping distances, especially during early morning hours when visibility may be lower or traffic patterns are shifting.
In this incident, the Ford F150 was reportedly stopped, likely waiting for other traffic, when it was struck from behind by the Lincoln Navigator. The impact was strong enough to total both vehicles, highlighting how even a seemingly simple lapse in attention can result in severe consequences.
Though the injuries were reported as minor, victims of rear-end collisions can often experience delayed symptoms such as whiplash, back strain, and concussions. Medical evaluations following any crash are critical, even when injuries do not appear serious at the scene.
Drivers in Morgan County and throughout Missouri are reminded to maintain a safe following distance and always remain attentive to traffic changes, especially on rural roads where unexpected stops are more common.
