Murfreesboro, TN (January 28, 2025) – A tragic two-vehicle accident on Middle Tennessee Blvd claimed the life of one person and left multiple others injured on Monday evening.
The Murfreesboro Police Department reported that the collision occurred shortly before 6:45 p.m. on Middle Tennessee Blvd between Park Ave and Haley Rd. According to preliminary findings, a Nissan Rouge traveling westbound struck a Mazda sedan as the latter attempted a left turn onto Middle Tennessee Blvd. The impact forced the Mazda into a parked vehicle.
Emergency responders from Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department were quick to the scene, working to extract a 5-year-old child trapped in the Mazda. The child and the female driver of the Mazda suffered serious injuries. They were transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where the child remains in critical condition and the woman is stable. A male passenger in the Mazda tragically succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The driver of the Nissan Rouge sustained injuries and was transported to Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital, where he is reportedly in stable condition.
