Nashville, TN (January 17, 2026) – A man is dead and two others are recovering from injuries after a violent two-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Nashville. The fatal collision occurred around 2:00 a.m. on January 16 along Old Hickory Boulevard near Zermatt Avenue, according to Metro Nashville Police Department officials.
The crash involved a 2005 Lincoln Grand Marquis and a 2019 Honda Accord. Investigators say the Lincoln was traveling west on Old Hickory Blvd and attempting to make a left turn onto Zermatt Ave when it was struck on the passenger side by the oncoming Honda. The impact caused the Lincoln to overturn.
Authorities confirmed that none of the individuals in the Lincoln were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. Tragically, the passenger—identified as 42-year-old Markeith Miller of Nashville—was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 38-year-old woman driving the Lincoln was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. The 25-year-old driver of the Honda, who was wearing a seat belt, was also taken to VUMC for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
According to police, the driver of the Lincoln failed to yield the right of way while turning, which appears to be a contributing factor in the crash.
We extend our deepest condolences to the family of Markeith Miller and send our thoughts to those injured as they begin their recovery.
