Newport News, VA (September 22, 2025) – Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a serious rollover accident early Monday morning at the intersection of 72nd Street and Marshall Avenue. The crash resulted in injuries and required assistance from fire crews, medics, and law enforcement for possible extrication.
According to dispatch audio from Newport News Fire, the crash involved a Chevrolet vehicle that had flipped onto its roof. The incident was first reported around 8:58 AM local time. One person was initially trapped inside the overturned car, but bystanders and emergency personnel were able to extract the individual before additional units arrived.
A female at the scene was reported to be walking but appeared to be injured. Paramedics quickly responded to assess and treat her as well as others potentially involved. At least two medic units remained on site to support patient care while other responding crews were cleared from the scene.
Fire officials confirmed that all occupants were out of the vehicle before the first units arrived. Crews worked to stabilize the scene, provide aid to those hurt, and coordinate with police to manage traffic and conduct a preliminary investigation.
