Newport News, VA (September 23, 2025) – A car accident on I-64 westbound near mile marker 259 resulted in injuries Monday afternoon in Newport News. Emergency units from Newport News Fire and Police responded to the scene shortly after 5:05 p.m. local time.
The crash involved a brown Chevrolet Silverado and left at least one person injured. According to initial reports, the individual complained of back pain and was evaluated by medics on scene. Units including Engine 8, Medic teams, EMS2, and Ladder 6 were dispatched under a priority response to assist with patient care and traffic control.
The collision occurred in a busy corridor of I-64, where traffic congestion and high-speed conditions can increase the likelihood of injury crashes. Responders worked quickly to assess the situation, provide medical attention, and ensure the roadway was safe for travel.
