Newport News, VA (September 16, 2025) – Emergency crews responded early Tuesday morning to a vehicle accident with injuries near the intersection of 64th Street and Work Boulevard in Newport News. The incident occurred shortly before 7:00 a.m. and prompted a full emergency response from Newport News Fire personnel.
According to dispatch audio, Engine 1, Medic 1, and Tower 7 were dispatched to the scene for an “active injury” situation, indicating that at least one person required medical attention. The crash took place in the 23607 area near local neighborhoods and industrial zones, where early morning traffic is typically busy with commuters and work-related vehicles.
Upon arrival, first responders treated the injured party at the scene. The exact number of individuals involved and the severity of injuries have not yet been released by authorities. Traffic near the intersection was temporarily impacted while crews worked to assist victims and manage the roadway.
