Newport News, VA (September 18, 2025) – Emergency responders rushed to the scene of a serious vehicle crash Thursday morning on I-64 westbound near Exit 238 in Newport News, where a driver and a young child were reportedly injured.
The collision occurred during the morning commute hours on September 18. According to radio dispatch from Newport News Fire, crews including Tower 6, Engine 11, and Battalion 2 responded to the crash, which involved a vehicle with an adult driver and a 2-year-old passenger.
Reports from the scene indicate that the driver was experiencing pain and required medical evaluation. The toddler was also present in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was assessed by medics.
