Newport News, VA (September 23, 2025) – Emergency crews responded late Monday night to a single-vehicle crash involving a blue sedan that collided with a median near West I-654 and Western Dr in Newport News. The incident occurred just before 3:00 a.m. local time and resulted in at least one person sustaining injuries.
According to reports from Newport News Fire, the sedan veered off the roadway and struck the median divider. Units from Engine 6, Medic 6, Ladder 4, and EMS2 arrived on scene and began treatment for the injured individual. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed at this time, but responders operated under a tactical emergency protocol due to the severity of the crash.
Authorities have not yet identified the driver or disclosed whether other factors, such as speed or road conditions, contributed to the incident. No additional vehicles were involved.
