Nice, CA (September 12, 2025) – A woman sustained injuries in a head-on crash late Thursday morning along Highway 20 near Stokes Rd in the Lake County community of Nice, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred around 10:51 AM on September 11 and involved two vehicles: a Ford Edge and a Chevrolet Malibu. Preliminary reports indicate that the vehicles collided head-on while traveling in opposite directions along a stretch of Hwy 20 commonly used by both local and through traffic. The impact left both vehicles with significant front-end damage.
CHP and medical personnel responded promptly to the scene. Emergency responders assisted the injured woman, who was later transported to a nearby hospital for additional treatment. Her current condition has not been released, but officials confirmed that she was alert when emergency crews arrived.
Authorities temporarily closed portions of the highway to allow for emergency operations and debris removal. Traffic was rerouted during the investigation, which is ongoing. Investigators are examining whether speed, roadway conditions, or driver error contributed to the collision.
