Nichols, NY (September 9, 2025) – Medics and fire crews worked to assist those suffering from injuries after a tragic crash involving a passenger car and a tractor-trailer occurred early on Tuesday morning on State Route 17, between the Barton Exit (Exit 61) and the Nichols Exit (Exit 62).
According to New York State Police, the accident took place around 4:30 a.m. and resulted in the deaths of two passengers in the car. Preliminary reports indicate that the tractor-trailer rear-ended the passenger vehicle. The driver of the truck was unharmed.
