The incident was reported around 8:08 p.m., prompting a multi-unit response from Battalion 2, Engine 13, Ladder 13, and Medic 9, who operated on TAC 8 during the event. Initial reports from tunnel authorities confirmed that the crash occurred within the tunnel, necessitating immediate attention from both eastbound and westbound access points due to traffic flow constraints.
While specific details about the number of vehicles or extent of injuries have not been released, the confined nature of the HRBT made emergency access and response especially critical.
