Norfolk, VA (September 10, 2025) – A serious multi-vehicle collision caused significant disruptions and resulted in several injuries Wednesday morning at the intersection of East Virginia Beach Blvd and Ingleside Rd. Emergency responders from Norfolk Police and Fire Rescue were dispatched promptly to the scene.
Initial reports from dispatch indicated that seven to eight people may have been injured in the crash, which occurred around 7:33 a.m.—during the height of the morning commute. Officers arriving on scene confirmed the need for medical assistance, describing multiple minor injuries among those involved.
Rescue crews worked quickly to assess patients and manage the intersection, one of the busiest in the area due to its proximity to residential zones, shopping centers, and a nearby light rail line. While no vehicle descriptions were provided in the early stages, the scene was quickly stabilized by first responders, and traffic was rerouted to prevent further congestion.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. No life-threatening injuries have been reported at this time, but at least one person was previously transported to CHKD following a related incident in the same area earlier in the morning.
We extend our thoughts to all individuals affected in today’s crash and hope for a smooth and complete recovery for each.
