Oakland, CA (January 17, 2026) – A bicyclist was injured Friday evening after being struck by a truck in a traffic collision near E 31st St in Oakland. The incident occurred around 7:46 p.m. on January 16 and involved a 50-year-old man who was thrown an estimated 10 to 15 feet upon impact.
Emergency medical personnel arrived quickly to assist the injured cyclist, who remained conscious and alert at the scene. He reported pain in his left ribs, chest, and left ankle. Although no deformities were found, responders noted tenderness in the mid-back and ankle areas. The man denied losing consciousness but described feeling dazed immediately following the crash.
First responders evaluated the victim’s condition and monitored vital signs while preparing for further care. The extent of his injuries was not life-threatening, though he was transported for additional medical evaluation as a precaution.
