Oakland, CA (September 17, 2025) – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries Tuesday afternoon after being hit by a vehicle at the intersection of Bancroft Ave and 90th Ave in East Oakland. The incident, which occurred just before 1:00 p.m., prompted a high-priority response from local police and emergency medical services.
An officer already in the area observed the aftermath of the incident and immediately called for Code 3 medical assistance—signaling the need for an urgent, lights-and-siren response. According to Oakland Police dispatch audio, the pedestrian was located in critical condition and additional law enforcement units were requested to assist with securing the scene.
The collision took place in a densely populated section of Oakland’s 94621 ZIP code, not far from community centers and public transit routes. While full details regarding the striking vehicle or driver have not been disclosed, the victim reportedly suffered serious trauma consistent with being hit at speed.
