Orange County, FL (August 4, 2025) – A tragic collision claimed the life of a 25-year-old Orlando man on Saturday morning as he attempted to cross State Road 50 just east of Saint Nicholas Avenue. The Florida Highway Patrol confirmed the fatal crash occurred around 9 a.m.
Medics and fire crews worked urgently at the scene to care for the injured pedestrian, who had suffered critical trauma. Despite being transported to a nearby hospital, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. The incident unfolded when a Jeep Grand Cherokee traveling eastbound on S.R. 50 made a U-turn to head west. As the vehicle entered the westbound lanes, the pedestrian, walking north but outside of a marked crosswalk, stepped into the direct path of the Jeep.
The front of the vehicle struck the man, causing devastating injuries. Authorities identified the driver as a 34-year-old woman from Orlando, who remained at the crash site and cooperated with investigators. She was not physically injured.
