Ottawa County, MI (April 24, 2025) – A 65-year-old Jenison man was seriously injured and airlifted to a hospital Thursday morning following a crash in the 9900 block of Port Sheldon Street, according to the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office. The crash, which involved two vehicles, occurred just before 8:00 a.m., prompting a full emergency response.
Authorities said the older man was pulling out of his driveway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by a 32-year-old Jenison resident. Emergency crews arrived swiftly and determined that the 65-year-old had sustained serious injuries, necessitating air medical transport to a regional trauma center.
The second driver was also injured in the crash and was taken to a nearby hospital with minor, non-life-threatening injuries.
Port Sheldon Street was temporarily shut down while first responders managed the scene, coordinated patient care, and began an initial investigation into the cause of the crash. The roadway has since been reopened, though the incident remains under review by the sheriff’s office.
