Palisade, CO (January 17, 2026) – Emergency responders were dispatched following a fatal motorcycle crash at the intersection of 8th Street and Iowa Avenue in Palisade. Medics and fire crews worked urgently to perform lifesaving efforts on the motorcyclist, who sustained fatal injuries in the collision.
According to Palisade Police, the crash involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle. The motorcyclist, identified as 54-year-old Glenn Holmes of Grand Junction, was critically injured when his motorcycle collided with a car at the intersection. Officials from the Mesa County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Holmes was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Despite prompt emergency response, Holmes succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The driver of the car remained on-site following the incident, though no additional injuries were reported.
Palisade Police have launched a full investigation into the cause of the crash.
