Palmdale, CA (July 18, 2025) – A 31-year-old woman from Lake Arrowhead was tragically killed in a motorcycle crash on Wednesday morning on the northbound Antelope Valley (14) Freeway at the Pearblossom Highway interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision occurred around 9:26 a.m. on July 16. Authorities reported that a 32-year-old man from Apple Valley was operating a 2020 Harley-Davidson motorcycle while transitioning from Pearblossom Highway to northbound SR-14. For reasons still under investigation, the rider lost control, causing the motorcycle to overturn and skid into the raised concrete median separating the on-ramp from the freeway’s mainline lanes.
The impact ejected the female passenger from the motorcycle. She was violently thrown into a metal freeway signpost and sustained fatal injuries. Emergency crews arrived quickly but were unable to revive her. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her identity has not yet been publicly released pending family notification.
The male rider suffered a head contusion and abrasions to his hand but did not require transport to a hospital. Both individuals were confirmed to have been wearing helmets at the time of the crash.
CHP continues to investigate the crash to determine what caused the rider to lose control.
