Pasco, WA (August 26, 2025) – A tragic collision occurred Sunday morning just north of Pasco, leaving one man dead and multiple others injured. According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the crash took place on SR-395 near the intersection with Crestloch, involving two vehicles traveling in opposite directions.
The incident happened when the driver of a southbound vehicle attempted to make a left turn onto eastbound Crestloch. During the turn, the vehicle was struck by a northbound car traveling on SR-395. The impact was severe, and both vehicles were completely destroyed in the crash.
WSP confirmed that 76-year-old Mark R. Wallum, a passenger in the turning vehicle, tragically died at the scene. Two other occupants from the same vehicle were seriously injured and were taken to Kadlec Regional Medical Center for treatment. The driver of the second vehicle was also transported to the same hospital, and all individuals involved were reported to have suffered injuries of varying severity.
Troopers noted that alcohol and drugs were not contributing factors in the crash and that all parties were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision. An investigation is underway to determine if other elements—such as visibility, speed, or driver judgment—may have contributed to the fatal outcome.
