Winning Trials since 1979

Peoria County, IL (August 6, 2025) – A serious single-car accident left two people injured Monday evening on Lancaster Rd just west of Hanna City-Glasford Rd. First responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 9:40 PM. Firefighters from Logan-Trivoli Fire, Timber-Hollis Fire and Rescue, and deputies from the Peoria County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the incident.

One of the victims had to be extricated from the vehicle and was flown via Life Flight helicopter to OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center with serious injuries.

The second individual sustained less severe injuries and was transported to OSF by an American Medical Transport ambulance for treatment. Emergency crews closed the intersection at around 10:15 PM, reopening it just after 11:00 PM. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Our thoughts are with both individuals hurt in this incident.

Single-Vehicle Crash Considerations in Rural Illinois

Rural roads in Peoria County, including stretches like Lancaster Rd, often present unexpected dangers—particularly after dark. Limited lighting, sharp curves, and wildlife crossings all increase the risks for drivers navigating these areas at night. Although single-vehicle collisions may appear straightforward, they can involve numerous contributing factors such as fatigue, vehicle malfunction, or roadway design issues.

After a serious crash, swift response and medical attention are critical. In cases involving entrapment, the timely arrival of rescue personnel can make the difference between recovery and long-term trauma. Victims and their families should maintain all medical records, photographs of the crash site, and information from responders to support insurance or legal claims. Even in situations where no other vehicle is involved, legal consultation may still be appropriate—especially when injuries are severe or recovery is expected to be lengthy.
