Perry County, MO (August 6, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash occurred Tuesday afternoon on southbound Route C, north of Perry County Road 434, resulting in one person being transported to the hospital with injuries. The Missouri State Highway Patrol, led by TPR. J. Collier, investigated the crash, which took place around 4:15 p.m.
According to the report, both vehicles were traveling northbound when the front left end of a 2011 GMC Sierra collided with the front left end of a 2012 Chevrolet Impala. The force of the crash caused the Impala to veer off the east side of the roadway, while the GMC Sierra lost its front left tire and came to rest facing north.
The driver of the GMC, a 24-year-old male from Addieville, IL, was wearing a seatbelt and sustained minor injuries. He was transported by Mercy Ambulance District to Mercy Hospital Perry for treatment. The 66-year-old female driver of the Chevrolet Impala, a resident of Terre Haute, IN, was reportedly uninjured despite the impact. She was also properly restrained at the time of the collision.
Both vehicles sustained moderate damage and were towed from the scene by Perry County Towing. The crash resulted in traffic delays on this rural stretch of Route C as responders cleared the roadway.
Rural Road Collisions in Missouri
Tuesday’s crash on Route C in Perry County is a reminder of the unique challenges posed by narrow, rural highways. While less congested than major interstates, these roads often lack wide shoulders or protective barriers, which increases the risk of serious consequences when collisions occur.
Incidents involving frontal impact—especially in the same direction of travel—often arise from lane encroachment, driver inattention, or misjudged distances. Though both vehicles were traveling in the same direction, the angle of the collision led to significant vehicle damage and left one driver needing medical care.
Even with minor injuries, the aftermath of a crash can involve time-consuming insurance claims, vehicle repairs, and medical follow-up. Access to immediate support is essential for helping victims recover without added stress or delay.
