Petersburg, VA (January 10, 2026) – A two-vehicle collision on the southbound side of I-95 near mile marker 49 left at least one person injured on Wednesday morning in Petersburg. Emergency crews responded to the scene shortly before noon, where both vehicles were found along the right shoulder of the interstate.
Chief One confirmed the situation upon arrival, and multiple fire and medic units, including Engine 3, were dispatched to assist. While there were no reports of anyone trapped in the vehicles, at least one individual was treated for injuries on site. Details regarding the severity of the injuries or additional parties involved have not been disclosed.
The scene was brought under control shortly after 3:00 p.m., and traffic delays were managed as responders cleared the roadway.
