Multi-Vehicle Crashes in Missouri
Passing maneuvers on two-lane highways can be especially dangerous when oncoming traffic is present. Saturday night’s crash on Route M illustrates the importance of ensuring there is ample time and clear visibility before attempting to pass. Misjudging speed or distance can quickly lead to multi-vehicle collisions with severe consequences.
Missouri safety officials urge drivers to pass only in designated passing zones, check thoroughly for oncoming vehicles, and return to their lane well before encountering approaching traffic. Slowing down and exercising patience can prevent potentially life-threatening incidents.
