Pettis County, MO (January 25, 2025) – A two-vehicle collision occurred on US-50 at Hwy-W in Pettis County, resulting in injuries to both drivers. The crash was reported at approximately 7:31 p.m. and was investigated by Trooper M.G. Bennet of Troop A.
According to the crash report, the incident took place when a 2013 Jeep Compass, traveling northbound, failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of a westbound 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee. The Grand Cherokee struck the right side of the Compass, causing the Compass to veer off the road, hit a snowbank, and overturn. Both vehicles sustained total damage and were towed from the scene—one by Don’s Tow and the other by State Fair Towing.
The 70-year-old female driver of the Jeep Compass, a resident of Warsaw, MO, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by Pettis County Ambulance to Bothwell Hospital for treatment. The 40-year-old female driver of the Jeep Grand Cherokee, from Lincoln, MO, suffered minor injuries and sought treatment independently. Both drivers were reportedly wearing their safety devices at the time of the crash.
The collision remains under investigation, with authorities noting that the failure to stop at a stop sign was a primary factor in the crash.
