Motorcycle Fatalities in Arizona
Motorcycle crashes often have tragic outcomes due to the limited protection riders have in collisions with larger vehicles. Monday’s crash in north Phoenix is a sobering reminder of the heightened risks motorcyclists face, particularly at busy intersections where visibility issues and turning movements can quickly lead to dangerous situations.
Arizona traffic data shows that intersection-related motorcycle fatalities frequently involve failure to yield, driver inattention, or unsafe speeds. Safety officials urge both riders and drivers to exercise heightened awareness—motorcyclists should wear full protective gear, while drivers should check twice for smaller vehicles before turning or changing lanes.
