Pedestrian Collisions in Phoenix Neighborhoods
Phoenix has long struggled with pedestrian safety, ranking among the highest metro areas in the nation for pedestrian fatalities and serious injuries. Intersections like N 25th Ave and W Dunlap Ave, where multi-lane traffic converges, pose particular dangers for those crossing on foot.
Statewide data reveals that pedestrian accidents are often linked to speeding vehicles, poor visibility at night, and drivers failing to yield. In many instances, these crashes result in life-threatening injuries, especially when trucks or larger vehicles are involved.
Authorities continue to urge both drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution. Drivers should slow down in urban neighborhoods, remain alert for crossing pedestrians, and avoid distractions. Pedestrians are advised to cross only at designated crosswalks and remain highly visible, especially at night.
