Pike County, MO (August 13, 2025) – Emergency crews were called to a crash on US-54 at US-61 on Tuesday evening at approximately 5:54 p.m. The incident involved two vehicles, a 2017 Ford Escape and a 2011 Ford Fiesta. The crash resulted in serious injuries to two individuals, with both being transported to hospitals for treatment.
According to law enforcement, the driver of the Ford Escape, a 27-year-old male from Vandalia, Missouri, failed to yield to the Ford Fiesta while attempting to make a left turn. As a result, the Ford Escape crossed the centerline and was struck by the Ford Fiesta in the rear passenger side. The impact caused extensive damage to both vehicles.
The 21-year-old female passenger in the Ford Fiesta, from Vandalia, Missouri, suffered serious injuries and was transported by Pike County Memorial Hospital ambulance to SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital in Lake Saint Louis. The 27-year-old male driver of the Ford Escape also sustained serious injuries and was airlifted by Air Evac 146 to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis. The 39-year-old male driver of the Ford Fiesta, from Louisiana, Missouri, sustained minor injuries and was transported privately to Pike County Memorial Hospital.
Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Heartland Towing of Bowling Green. Law enforcement officers, including TPR. R. A. Allee, assisted at the scene, and the investigation into the crash is ongoing.
