Pima County, AZ (January 17, 2026) – A 45-year-old man riding a scooter sustained head and ankle injuries after being struck in a collision on January 15 near the intersection of South Kolb Road and East Calle Pegaso in Tucson.
The incident was reported at approximately 8:21 a.m. Emergency crews, including Tucson Fire Department units, responded to the scene and found the victim on the ground bleeding from the head. He was also reportedly suffering from an ankle injury. The rider was treated at the scene by medics before being prepared for further care.
Initial confusion at the scene suggested the individual may have been using a walker or bicycle, but officials later confirmed he had been operating a scooter. It remains unclear whether a vehicle was directly involved or if any other parties sustained injuries.
An investigation is underway to determine the events that led up to the collision. Authorities are expected to review local traffic footage, statements from witnesses, and nearby traffic conditions.
