Pittsburgh, PA (January 31, 2026) – Emergency crews responded to a serious vehicle crash with injuries late Friday night on Interstate 376 near the Grant Street exit. The collision occurred around 10:40 p.m. and involved a vehicle that was reportedly traveling at extreme speed before crashing into a wall.
According to dispatch reports, a caller witnessed a vehicle speeding past them at approximately 100 mph before it lost control and struck a stone embankment just before the Bates Street on-ramp. Medic 7, Engine 2, and Rescue 1 were among the units dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, responders discovered one individual unconscious inside the vehicle, which was elevated against the embankment.
Emergency responders worked urgently to gain access to the vehicle and provide medical care to the injured party. At least one person was transported from the scene, although the extent of their injuries has not been publicly confirmed. Traffic along the eastbound side of I-376, heading toward Homestead, was significantly impacted during the response and investigation.
Authorities continue to investigate the crash and are working to determine the exact circumstances leading up to the collision. High speed appears to have been a contributing factor.
