Placerville, CA (September 23, 2025) – Two people were hospitalized following a rollover crash Sunday afternoon on eastbound Highway 50 near Greenstone Rd in Placerville. The collision was reported around 12:20 p.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
Authorities stated that a pickup truck pulling a trailer collided with another vehicle for reasons that have not yet been determined. The impact caused the pickup and trailer to overturn, landing on their sides and blocking portions of the roadway.
Emergency responders arrived and provided aid to those involved. Two individuals were transported to Marshall Hospital with minor injuries. No other injuries were reported at the scene.
Due to the crash, eastbound lanes of Highway 50 just east of El Dorado Rd were temporarily closed to allow crews to clear debris and conduct an investigation. The highway was fully reopened by approximately 1:16 p.m.
Investigators continue to review the circumstances of the collision.
