Placerville, CA (January 4, 2025) – A multi-vehicle collision involving icy road conditions occurred this morning on US-50 East near the Sly Park Rd off-ramp. Emergency responders were dispatched to the scene at approximately 6:51 a.m.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), at least two vehicles were involved, including a black pickup truck and a large SUV. One vehicle reportedly rolled off the roadway and into a ditch, landing on its roof. Another vehicle came to rest off Ridgeway Dr. The crash occurred amidst icy road conditions, which were noted as a contributing factor.
Emergency crews, including CalFire and multiple towing services, were called to assist.
At least one individual sustained injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The extent of the injuries has not been disclosed. Recovery and cleanup operations, including multiple tow trucks for the affected vehicles, caused temporary traffic delays in the area.
